Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Haverhill, Suffolk
Salary: Circa £55,000
Shift: Flexible / shift pattern (Days and some nights not many)

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing site in Haverhill.
This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for keeping a high-output production operation running smoothly. We're looking for someone comfortable working across both electrical and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve faults quickly.
The site operates a single, high-volume production line producing around 100,000 products per day, so reliability and uptime are critical.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Reactive and planned maintenance across the production facility
- Electrical and mechanical fault-finding
- Diagnosing and repairing breakdowns
- Maintaining production machinery and packaging equipment
- Working across areas including boilers, electrical systems, mechanical equipment and utilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance to reduce repeat failures
- Working closely with production to minimise downtime
- Identifying opportunities to improve machine reliability and performance
MULTIVAC experience would be highly advantageous.
About You
We're looking for a genuinely multi-skilled engineer with a strong practical approach.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience within manufacturing, food production, packaging or a similar high-volume environment
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on production machinery
- The ability to work across both production equipment and site services
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
- Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
You don’t necessarily need to be an expert in every discipline. We're more interested in someone who can fault-find, think for themselves and get things running again.
