We are working with a well-established and highly respected garden centre business that is looking for a confident and motivated Garden Centre Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of their centre. About The Role

As a Garden Centre Assistant Manager, you will oversee the indoor retail departments, working in partnership with the Garden Centre Manager and Plant Area Manager. You will support the day-to-day running of the site through duty management responsibilities, contributing to strong sales performance, effective cost control, and consistently high standards across the centre. This is a prominent, hands-on role where you will set the tone on the shop floor, inspire and support your teams, and ensure every customer enjoys a welcoming and high-quality shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, including stock control, merchandising, and customer service
  • Motivate teams to deliver strong product displays and clear POS
  • Coach and develop colleagues in service, standards, and product knowledge
  • Complete daily admin and back-office tasks
  • Support goods-in, warehouse, and stock movement
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Provide duty management cover across the site
