What you’ll be doing
- Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise and coordinate the dispatch team to keep operations running smoothly.
- Build, coach, and inspire a motivated team, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards.
- Handle people‑related matters promptly and fairly, following HR policies.
- Operations & Fulfilment
- Lead outbound fulfilment to ensure orders are processed and dispatched on time and in full.
- Monitor loading and unloading to protect product integrity and maintain compliance.
- Maintain stock control and ensure proper rotation of products.
- Report daily dispatch performance and KPIs to management.
- Compliance & Safety
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing as everyday priorities.
- Conduct regular checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance.
- Stop unsafe practices immediately and take corrective action.
- Keep documentation accurate for all dispatched goods (delivery notes, invoices, traceability records).
- Collaboration & Improvement
- Work cross‑functionally to resolve issues and improve communication.
- Drive structured improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and team engagement.
What you’ll bring
- 2‑3 years’ experience in dispatch or logistics, ideally in poultry or food production.
- Supervisory or team leader experience.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or dispatch software (advantageous).
- GCSEs or equivalent; logistics or management certifications preferred.
- Strong leadership, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Clear communication, problem‑solving ability, and adaptability in fast‑paced environments.
