The Outdoor division represents a significant part of the wider group and offers an established portfolio of owned, licensed and distributed brands across a range of garden, tools and machinery categories sectors. The Job

  • Reporting to the Head of Outdoor, you will take commercial ownership of a broad product portfolio and work closely with sales, purchasing, marketing, operations and overseas sourcing partners.
  • Developing and delivering the commercial product strategy across multiple brands and categories.
  • Managing products throughout their full lifecycle, from initial opportunity and sourcing through to launch, growth and exit.
  • Reviewing range performance, pricing, margin, stock levels and market positioning.
  • Identifying new products, categories and commercial opportunities.
  • Supporting new product development and Far East sourcing activity.
  • Working with overseas agents and suppliers to develop commercially viable products.
  • Ensuring ranges meet the needs of garden, DIY, home and major retail customers.
  • Supporting the sales team with product launches, customer presentations and range reviews.
  • Working alongside National and Key Account Managers targeting major UK retailers.
  • Providing clear commercial insight, forecasts and recommendations to the wider leadership team.
  • Supporting and developing colleagues within the product function.

The Candidate

You will be a commercially driven product, category or brand professional with experience managing a meaningful consumer product portfolio. You could currently be working within garden products, tools, DIY, outdoor living, consumer durables, automotive, leisure or another related sector. You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Strong product, category or commercial management experience.
  • Ownership of revenue, margin and range performance.
  • Experience developing and launching new products.
  • A good understanding of pricing, forecasting, stock and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience sourcing products from the Far East or managing overseas suppliers.
  • Exposure to owned, licensed or distributed brands.
  • The ability to work effectively with sales teams and major retail customers.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to make recommendations.
  • A collaborative and hands-on leadership style.

The business is looking for someone who can combine strategic thinking with practical commercial delivery and take genuine ownership of the portfolio.
