We are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Event Sales and Business Development operative, overseeing inbound enquiries, managing daily reservations and incentivising return business. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for handling phonelines, emails and walk in enquiries, optimizing the diary for maximum efficiency and ensuring a seamless customer experience. This role is key in planning events, maintaining relationships with key accounts, and proactively conducting outreach to generate new booking opportunities.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Diary management for automated reservations and private hire bookings
- Identifying new booking opportunities, events, and markets
- Planning event enquiries end-to-end and greeting key clients if within working hours
- Data recording via CRM software to track enquiries, conversions, and client interactions
- Business development and proactive outreach exercises to generate enquiries and drive revenue
- Upselling pre-orders to secure advanced revenue and support financial planning
- Following initiatives to promote the spaces and increase booking enquiries
- Conducting site visits and acting as a bridge between operational staff, clients and the sales and marketing functions
Performance and Targets
- Ensuring all sales and booking targets are achieved, with KPIs (including a minimum conversion rate and enquiries generated) constantly monitored based on metrics adopted across the business
- Preparing and delivering a weekly handover of the next two weeks’ events to ensure seamless operations
- Working with the line manager and relevant teams to deliver proactive sales strategies and tactics that support both short-term and long-term performance of the spaces
- Confidently negotiating contracts and booking terms as set by the head of sales to maximize revenue and deliver sales strategy
Customer Experience
- Understanding that sales happen primarily via good customer service, adopting a warm and empathetic approach to all potential guests and the team around you
- Acting as the first point of contact for phone calls and booking enquiries, providing prompt and professional responses
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookings or event sales within hospitality (2 years min)
- Strong organizational and event planning skills
- Proficiency in Collins CRM
