The role
\nWe’re looking for a compassionate and practical Bioservices Technician to join our Bioservices team at the Moredun Group.
\nThis is a hands-on role working primarily with farm livestock, requiring prior practical experience in agricultural animal care. You’ll work with a range of animals and equipment. This role offers a strong focus on learning and development, with hands-on training involving a variety of agricultural animals and machinery.
\nThis is a full-time position; however, part-time applications will also be considered.
\nSalary: £25,949 (additional payments apply for on-call duties and overtime)
\nRole requirements
\n- \n
- Providing daily care, feeding and cleaning for a range of animal species \n
- Monitoring animal health and welfare, recognising signs of illness or distress \n
- Maintaining clean, safe and appropriate animal accommodation \n
- Supporting scientific procedures in line with approved protocols \n
- Keeping accurate records and supporting high standards of biosecurity \n
- Using and maintaining equipment and machinery (training provided) \n
You’ll work under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, with full training and support provided.
\nEssential Requirements
\n- \n
- Practical experience in animal husbandry or animal care \n
- Confidence and compassion when handling animals \n
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn \n
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team \n
- Full UK driving licence \n
Desirable Requirements
\n- \n
- Animal science or related qualification \n
- Experience with multiple species \n
- Experience in laboratory or research environments \n
- Home Office licence \n
