A vacancy exists for a post-doctoral research scientist to join an exciting, inter-disciplinary collaborative project involving Moredun, the Roslin Institute and Zoetis, on the development and use of bovine organoids. The project will develop and characterise bovine lung and mammary organoids and use previously developed gastric organoids to study interactions between the gastric parasite, Ostertagia ostertagi, and the host.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with appropriate laboratory experience in cell culture and pathogen biology, as well as proven oral and written communication skills. This position offers excellent opportunities for career development and skills training in organoid culture, imaging, transcriptomics, immunology and parasitology, and experience of working with an industrial partner.

Experience required
  • PhD in Biological Sciences or a related subject
  • Peer reviewed scientific publications
  • Cell culture experience
  • A current home office personal license would be desirable.

The post is funded for 2 years and is an Easter Bush Research Consortium (EBRC) project funded by Zoetis. The provisional start date is 1st February 2026 but is flexible. Interviews are planned for the week commencing 15th December 2025.
