More2Kidbrooke is seeking a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner for our Over 2s or PreSchool Room at 25 Ignatius Sancho Road, SE3 9NJ, Kidbrooke. As a Room Leader you will play an important role in leading a small team within the nursery, supporting high standards of care, learning and safeguarding while creating a positive and inspiring environment for both children and staff.

Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK – no visa sponsorship available.
  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (NVQ, CACHE, NNEB or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a nursery setting, ideally with some leadership responsibilities.
  • No more than a one‑hour commute to Kidbrooke.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a small team of practitioners within the room on a daily basis.
  • Act as a key worker and maintain strong relationships with children and families.
  • Support the planning and delivery of exciting, age‑appropriate learning opportunities in line with the EYFS.
  • Oversee observations, assessments and learning journeys within the room.
  • Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, hygiene and health & safety are consistently maintained.
  • Support and mentor junior staff members, students and apprentices.
  • Work closely with management to maintain a positive team culture and strong outcomes for children.
  • Contribute to room organisation, staff deployment and the smooth day‑to‑day running of the nursery.
  • Monitor children’s progress and support staff in identifying next steps in learning and development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
  • Previous experience within an Early Years setting.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Confident leading a small team and supporting others professionally.
  • Food hygiene certificate or willingness to complete one.
  • Valid 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid certificate or willingness to complete training.

Working Hours

You will be working 4 days per week (7.30 am – 6.00 pm) with one weekday off.
