Join Our Pack

From a bold idea to revolutionising dog food, Years has grown into a fast-scaling business dedicated to helping dogs live longer, healthier lives. In just three years, we have built a strong start-up business, serving thousands of happy customers across the UK, all while staying focused on our mission. Our goal is simple: to give dog owners a better, fresher and healthier way to feed their pets. We make human-cut, personalised meals designed around each dog's unique needs and deliver them straight to their door. No preservatives, no compromises - just real nutrition.

As we continue to grow, we are building the foundations that will allow us to scale responsibly, safely and sustainably - and that’s where this role comes in.

Your Mission

As our QA Technologist, your role is to help protect product quality and food safety as the business grows. You will be a hands-on presence on site, making sure the right checks are happening every day, standards are being followed, and issues are picked up early and dealt with properly. You will sit within the Technical & Quality function, reporting to the Technical Manager, and work closely with Production, Operations, Supply Chain and Product teams. This is a practical, factory-floor role rather than a desk-based one - focused on execution, consistency and supporting teams to do things the right way.

As a growing business, we don’t have layers of QA already in place. You will help bring structure, visibility and confidence to our day-to-day quality activities, supporting audits, investigations and continuous improvement as we scale. This role has a shift pattern 06:30–14:30 Monday - Friday (some flexibility will be required given the nature of the role).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine quality and food safety checks across production and warehousing
  • Monitor and support compliance with HACCP plans, CCPs, GMP and site procedures
  • Complete and maintain accurate quality records, specifications and documentation
  • Log, investigate and support corrective actions for non-conformances, deviations and complaints
  • Support intake checks, traceability exercises and stock holds when required
  • Help keep the site audit-ready through good document control and follow-up
  • Work closely with Operations to improve consistency and reduce repeat quality issues
  • Escalate food safety or quality risks promptly and clearly

Requirements

  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment (human or pet food)
  • A working understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP, CCPs, GMP and prerequisite programmes
  • Confidence carrying out quality checks and working on the factory floor
  • A practical, structured approach to problem-solving and investigations
  • Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits
  • Ability to communicate clearly and challenge issues constructively
  • A reliable, organised approach to day-to-day work
  • Mandatory qualification: HACCP & Food Safety (Level 3 preferred; Level 2 is acceptable)
  • Pet food experience and labelling knowledge are a bonus, but not essential - full training will be provided.

Interview Process

  • An initial conversation covering your experience and a chance to learn more about Years and the team (30 minutes)
  • A task-based interview (kept intentionally light and respectful of your time), followed by a discussion with the team
  • A final interview to see how the business works day to day and get a feel for our culture

Benefits

What’s In It For You?

  • Salary of £30,000 - £33,000 Annual
  • £250.00 Learning & Development budget for courses, books or other self-learn activities
  • Annual £100.00 Wellbeing budget
  • Up to 2 weeks working abroad per year (selected roles)
  • Monthly recognition through our Yappa of The Month programme
  • 1 Volunteer day per year – dog themed or not: it’s your choice
  • Subsidised employee groups – from five a side to padel there’s loads to get involved in or the chance to start up your own group
  • Quarterly subsidised team events from Axe throwing, crazy golf to cocktail making
  • Exclusive discounts on Years and Years treats for yourself and friends/family
  • Lunch & Learn programme – from dog first aid to financial savviness we’ve got sessions planned to cover all kinds of topics
  • Casual dress
