Our client, a global Aerospace systems manufacturer, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team based in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative electrical and mechanical products that support cutting-edge aerospace applications.
Main Scope of the Supplier Quality Engineer Role
- To be responsible for maintaining, controlling, and ensuring the quality performance of all suppliers.
- To ensure that all supplier nonconformities are examined and, if necessary, escalated.
- To maintain and complete a supplier audit schedule in accordance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
- To drive towards enhanced supplier quality performance by developing measurements for important processes and agreed targets.
- To provide feedback on supplier performance through regular internal KPI evaluations.
Duties as a Supplier Quality Engineer will include but are not restricted to:
- Providing quality interpretation of requirements to suppliers and relevant departments.
- Managing and supporting the supplier quality interface and ensuring that all supplier quality issues and non-conformances are managed to an agreed timescale.
- Reporting regularly on the quality performance of the supply chain, coordinating the generation and deployment of metrics to support business requirements.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) support to any modifications or supplier transfer activities if required.
- Engaging with suppliers and planning and discharging a supplier review process, covering all quality aspects to drive quality improvements as well as implementation of APQP on all programs.
- Conducting capability assessments and processing validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Performing analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Providing material review (MRB) dispositions for non-conformances.
- Performing internal audits to ensure maintenance of QMS to AS9100.
Ideal Supplier Quality Engineer Candidate
- Proven experience in Quality.
- Experience in interpretation of engineering drawings.
- A clean valid UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience working directly with suppliers and supplier management.
- Proven experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation.
- Proven experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
