Mobile HGV Technician – Thrapston/Kettering
£22.00 – £24.00 per hour. Company van and fuel card provided. Overtime available.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on HGVs and trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
- Attend roadside breakdowns and provide fast, effective repairs
- Complete MOT preparation and defect rectification
- Carry out brake, suspension, engine, and trailer repairs
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Ensure all work is completed to DVSA and company standards
- Complete job cards and paperwork accurately
- Deliver excellent customer service while working independently in the field
- Maintain company vehicle stock levels and tools
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
- Experience working on trailers would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence required
- HGV licence beneficial but not essential
