At DENSO Marston Ltd in Shipley, West Yorkshire, we design and manufacture high‑performance heat exchange units and cooling modules for leading OEMs across the off‑highway construction, agricultural and power generation sectors.
The HSE Officer will report to the Head of Human Resources and play a key role in supporting and promoting a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace across the business. Working within a small HSE team, you will provide practical advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, ISO standards and company policies. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to influence operational practices, support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with colleagues across the wider DENSO group.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Conduct and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and workplace inspections
- Support managers in promoting HSE ownership and best practice across their departments
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, incidents and corrective actions
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives
- Ensure statutory inspections and contractor controls are maintained
- Support incident investigations and ensure reporting requirements are met
- Liaise with external authorities and internal DENSO stakeholders regarding HSE matters
- Contribute to continuous improvement and wider European HSE initiatives
- NEBOSH Certificate qualification
- IOSH membership
- Previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving capability
- Confident using Microsoft Office and external reporting systems
- NEBOSH Diploma or graduate‑level qualification
- Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE)
- Experience with machinery safety, LEV testing and environmental monitoring
- Experience supporting HSE initiatives within a fast‑paced operational environment
- Monday – Thursday: 8.30am – 5.00pm
- Friday: 8.30am – 1.30pm
