Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the plating department in the preparation, pre‑treatment and plating of aircraft components to CMM repairs and specifications.
  • Work with electrical circuitry and surface finishing on chromium, nickel, cadmium and zinc nickel.
  • Prepare and mask components during the pre‑plating process.
  • Set up tooling, fixtures and assist in new tooling design.
  • Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment.
  • Read component maintenance manuals, complex drawings and engineering layout information.
  • Diagnose vat, electrical or tooling malfunctions to determine the need for adjustment or repairs.
  • Operate de‑embrittlement and stress relief processes.
  • Perform cleaning, masking, heating and waxing of components.
  • Carry out grit blasting, chrome stripping, shot peening, cadmium stripping and sermetel stripping.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a hands‑on production or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electroplating techniques.
  • High attention to detail with strong quality awareness.
  • Willingness to train and adopt new skills.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma disciplines and 5S principles.
  • Ability to work shift rotations comprising days, late shifts, nights and, when required, weekends.
