Our client has an opportunity for a Design Structures Approver to join them on a contract basis until the end of 2026.

Location: Broughton, Flintshire.

Hours: 35 per week.

Hourly rate: £44-£50 per hour via umbrella, inside IR35.

Clearance: BPSS required to start.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead, guide and approve design solutions for a range of tasks, including Major/Minor Design Modifications and Design Query Notes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the engineering team, assisting with development of team members, identifying skill gaps and driving plans to close those gaps.
  • Ensure that design standards and requirements are met, liaising with other functions and projects to ensure the design solutions are fully integrated.
  • Operate as a design approval signatory.
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other capability improvements.
  • Support and build strong relationships between wider stakeholders including CVE, Chief Engineer, Configuration Management and Local Programmes Team to enable a satisfactory design solution and implementation on the aircraft that supports airworthiness type certification and configuration management.

  • Understand and synthesize multiple complex activities, simplify and communicate them clearly, on a timely basis, to all stakeholders as needed.
