Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 2x shift rotation 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

Salary: £18.28 per hour (overtime and unsociable hours at an increased rate)

About the role

Working under the supervision and coordination of the Workshop Shift Manager, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently carrying out any necessary polish and vehicle finishing techniques to ensure vehicles are in pristine condition prior to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and carry out any necessary polish techniques.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are completed using appropriate SMART techniques.
  • Use all materials within the manufacturer's instructions and minimize usage for effective repair.
  • Remove and replace / fit protective moulding, transfer and decals if required.
  • Apply finishing materials, water-based and solvent-based materials.
  • Carry out buffering and burnishing on parts and panels.
  • Inspect finished vehicles to ensure there is no damage.
  • Keep the workshop area clean and organized.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep up to date with the latest repair techniques and technologies.
  • Undertake any other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Over 22 years old.
  • Valid driver’s licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
  • No DR10 offences for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to work the specified shift times above.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in SMART Vehicle Polishing.
  • Required to pass a skills test on Smart Polishing techniques.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety and cooperation with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
