About the Role

As a B1 Licensed Engineer, you will perform aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with company quality and regulatory airworthiness standards.

Working with the Shift Manager, you will ensure that operational services meet all contractual requirements.

The role involves a mixture of day and night shifts and a commitment to be deployed for up to six months of the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory and company requirements.
• Receive, dispatch, and service aircraft; conduct pre‑flight checks, daily checks, weekly checks, scheduled maintenance, component changes, rectification and repair, mandatory inspections, role changes, and aircraft refuelling.
• Certify all servicing and maintenance tasks within the scope of authorisation and under the authority of the company Quality Manager.
• Supervise technical staff, ensuring they perform duties safely and correctly per relevant documentation.
• Control documentation for aircraft under your responsibility and ensure all required certification entries are promptly and correctly recorded.
• Manage material or company equipment provided for tasks and maintain cleanliness of the working area.
• Provide AOG recovery of aircraft from deployed operations and be available at short notice.
• Liaise with Planning to discuss technical issues and forthcoming scheduled inputs.
• Coordinate ground movement of aircraft as assigned by the Shift Manager.
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met and adhered to under all circumstances.
• Report safety or disciplinary matters to the immediate Line Manager.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Line Manager.
• Deliver a safe service in line with SMS, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems, maintaining awareness of safety and quality policies and hazard analyses.
• Deputise for senior engineer positions during periods of absence.
• Utilise GCIS Maintenance IT Support systems where applicable.
• Operate all company‑provided MTGSE vehicles in line with authorisation.
• Apply a safety‑focused approach to all facets of work.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant company administration processes, document control, and emergency response actions and drills.
• Encourage staff and promote open reporting within a just culture.
• Apply human‑factors awareness and capability to address potential implications.
• Act with integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
• Use investigation and analysis skills, motivation, and leadership to build the corporate safety culture.
• Manage resources and planning activities.
• Understand company policies, national environmental regulations, and national workplace HSE regulations.

Qualifications

• B1 UK CAA Licence.
• At least one type rating on licence (A330 preferred but not mandatory).
• Pass a CP2 Colour Vision Test.
• Experience in both line and base maintenance environments.
• Demonstrable experience on commercial or military aircraft.
• Previous approvals on commercial aircraft or military equivalent.
• Desirable: previous MOD or out‑station experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance (British passport required).
