THE ROLE
As an Experienced Multi-Skilled Paint Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, refinishing, and painting accident-damaged vehicles while also carrying out preparation, polishing, and minor cosmetic repair work to ensure every vehicle is returned to its pre-accident condition. Working as part of a skilled bodyshop team, you'll ensure repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer-approved standards, delivering outstanding quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for paint, including sanding, filling, masking, priming, and final surface preparation
- Mix and apply water-based and solvent-based paint systems to manufacturer specifications
- Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching, blending, polishing, and paint rectification to an exceptional standard
- Undertake minor SMART repairs and cosmetic paint corrections where required
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure a flawless factory-quality finish before vehicle handover
- Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, and Workshop Controllers to maximise workshop efficiency and vehicle throughput
- Maintain spray booths, paint equipment, and work areas to the highest housekeeping and safety standards
- Follow manufacturer repair methods, BS10125 standards, company procedures, and Health & Safety regulations at all times
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Paint Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
- Strong experience in vehicle preparation, paint spraying, colour matching, blending, polishing, and refinishing
- Confident carrying out both paint spraying and preparation duties to a high standard
- Experience with water-based and solvent-based paint systems
- Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing first-class workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment while meeting productivity targets
- Positive team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
