The role of Activity Programme Manager is key to the success of the school. Leading your team to deliver an unforgettable excursion and activity programme, you will be creating a life changing experience for children and teenagers through which they not only develop their language skills, but discover new perspectives and develop their self-confidence and social skills.

Central to successful activities and excursions is planning, creative thinking and the ability to act in a professional but friendly way with students aged 12-17.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate and inspire your team of activity leaders to deliver the best programme possible for our teenagers including: sports, wellbeing & creative activities, plus evening events and excursions.
  • Manage resources & equipment.
  • Safety.
  • Assist with pastoral care and supervision.
Leadership skills:
  • Create a proactive, can do, problem solving culture in your team.
  • Lead your team in having a big picture view of the summer school understanding how different departments also contribute to learning aims and a safe, educational and fun experience for students.
Quality control & professional development:
  • Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on the performance of your team.
Key skills:
  • Creativity, planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, proactive, problem solving, can-do attitude.
  • Time management, IT and administrative skills.
  • Effective communicator: ability to engage, excite and explain clearly in order to create excitement about the programme and ensure it runs smoothly.

  • Experience: Essential: Organisational and leadership experience within a child centred environment. Desirable: Previous summer school experience.

Salary and Benefits:

The campus is just outside historic Ludlow, a beautiful Shropshire market town. Residential staff benefit from healthy, freshly cooked food (all meals) and accommodation on campus (worth £74.62 a week). Salaries including pay (at 12.07%): Activity Programme Manager £730-£750 pw. Scheduled working hours do not exceed 48 hours over a 6-day week.
