Job Role:Class 1 Night Driver
Company Location:Mercier Park, DE12
Pay Rate: £20.32 per hour (unsociable hours), £17.17 per hour
Unsocial hours in the UK are working outside of the standard 9 AM5 PM business hours.
Shift Details:
Possible start times between 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM (notice will be given in advance if there is a change in the start time)
Job Description:
Delivering JLR parts to showrooms
Deliveries involve handballing (loading and unloading at the destination)
Although assessed for Class 1, the driver may occasionally be asked to drive a Class 2 vehicle
Handball work cages, loose items not heavy
Delivering to Car show room retailers through the night.
Using scanner to POD freight once loaded and delivered.
Placing freight into lock ups and storage places using keys and alarm pads to access.
Following set route and adhering to just-in-time drops.
Full compliance – Use of Sat NAV/Snooper, WTD, Driving hours duties, Safe Work instructions
Adhere to drivers handbook
Full training will be given.
Must have a good understanding of English and be a good communicator, paperwork involved.
Assessment and Training Schedule:
Day 1: Manual handling, safe working instructions, site safety, and general induction training (approximately 3 hours)
Day 2: Route familiarization with the night driver (no driving involved) (approximately 8 hours)
Day 3: Driving assessment and other relevant training (approximately 5 hours)
If you are content with the role, a driving assessment will be required.
Working Days: Monday Friday, PAYE Only
