About More Positive Me More Positive Me Community Interest Company supports people affected by domestic abuse, helping them rebuild confidence, rediscover who they are and move forward with their lives. The opportunity We are looking for an organised, compassionate and motivated person to join More Positive Me as our new Director. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our organisation. You will be involved in the day-to-day running and development of More Positive Me, while also delivering courses and creating opportunities that directly support people affected by domestic abuse. No two days are necessarily the same. The role combines administration, accounts, course delivery, fundraising, reporting, social media, websites, e-learning and community development. You will have the opportunity to bring your own ideas, creativity and skills to help More Positive Me continue to grow and reach more people.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day administration and organisation of the CIC.
- Supporting accounts, financial administration and record keeping
- Delivering courses including Empowerment After Domestic Abuse, Rediscovering You – Self Care and J9 Domestic Abuse Initiative.
- Creating safe, welcoming and supportive spaces.
- Supporting people affected by domestic abuse to develop confidence and move forward.
- Developing and delivering community projects.
- Researching and applying for funding opportunities.
- Writing funding applications and preparing reports.
- Monitoring project outcomes and demonstrating the impact of our work.
- Managing and developing social media.
- Maintaining and updating websites.
- Creating and managing e-courses and online resources.
- Developing new ideas and opportunities for the organisation.
- Building relationships with partners, community organisations and other professionals.
- Supporting the continued development and growth of More Positive Me.
- Recruitment, management and training of team members.
- Responsibility for safeguarding and legal requirements.
About you
- Passionate about helping people and making a genuine difference.
- Organised and able to manage a varied workload.
- Compassionate, approachable and able to create a safe environment for staff and clients.
- Confident communicating with a wide range of people.
- Able to work use initiative to work independently and also as part of the team.
- Willing to work collaboratively with the other directors, team and partner organisations.
- Comfortable managing administration and maintaining accurate records.
- Creative and confident using social media and digital platforms.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experienced in funding applications, reporting or community projects.
- Committed to equality, empowerment and creating positive change.
- Willing to learn, develop and bring new ideas to the organisation.
- Experience of domestic abuse services, community work, education or support work.
- Experienced in running a not-for-profit organisation with expertise in grant-funded business models.
- However, we are particularly interested in finding someone who shares our values and passion for helping people move forward.
