An established and highly respected MEP contractor based in the City of London is seeking a Project Director (Mechanical or Electrical Bias) to lead the delivery of a flagship commercial fit-out scheme.

The Opportunity
You will take full responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of a high-value commercial office fit-out project within the City of London, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring excellence across programme, commercial performance, technical quality, and client engagement.
This role offers genuine autonomy, board-level visibility, and the opportunity to shape project strategy within a dynamic and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Full project lifecycle leadership from pre-construction through to handover
- Strategic management of Mechanical and Electrical packages
- Leadership of Project Managers, Commercial Managers, and site teams
- Client-facing role with direct responsibility for stakeholder relationships
- Programme control and risk mitigation
- Commercial oversight including cost control, variations, and financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and safety requirements within the City of London
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered status (CEng) or working toward chartership highly desirable
- SMSTS certification
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and City of London compliance standards
- Proven track record delivering high-value commercial office fit-out projects
- Demonstrable leadership experience within a leading MEP contractor environment
- Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge (JCT experience essential)
