A leading Main Contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Package Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a major MEP package valued in excess of £25 million on a flagship new build development in Birmingham.

This is a key site-based leadership role, acting as the senior MEP representative on the ground — the “eyes and ears” of the project — ensuring programme, quality, safety, and technical compliance are delivered to the highest standards.

The Role

You will oversee all Mechanical and Electrical subcontractors on site, ensuring coordinated delivery across services, maintaining programme milestones, and upholding exceptional quality and health & safety standards throughout. This role requires a strong all-round building services professional with both mechanical and electrical knowledge, capable of driving performance and holding subcontractors accountable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of MEP subcontractors across the project lifecycle
  • Monitoring installation quality and ensuring works meet specification and design intent
  • Proactive programme management and coordination with wider construction teams
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and company procedures
  • Overseeing inspection, testing, and commissioning processes
  • Managing technical documentation, RFIs, method statements, RAMS, and quality paperwork
  • Chairing coordination meetings and driving resolution of technical issues
  • Reporting to the Project Director and senior leadership team

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an MEP Package Manager or Construction Manager on large-scale new build projects
  • Demonstrable experience managing MEP packages valued £20m+
  • Strong working knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical services
  • Background working for a Main Contractor environment essential
  • Excellent understanding of QA processes and technical compliance
  • SMSTS certification
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
