Within their role, Social Care Assistants have responsibility for working as a member of the Care At Home Team to provide support and personal care in accordance with agreed service plan based on a person centred/ rehabilitation approach. The aim is to support frail, older, physically disabled and vulnerable people in their own homes to maintain their ability to live independently.
To support individuals to accomplish tasks relating to independence and maintenance of personal care, medication, dietary requirements, physical health and mobility within their home.
To work as a member of Care at Home team maintaining contact, attending meetings and training as required.
Personal values that would reflect understanding of social, emotional and physical needs of frail, disabled and vulnerable people.
Agreement to work towards qualifications required for registration and any training required to meet standards.
Ability to be flexible within a working pattern.
You will be expected to use your own car to travel within the operational requirements of the service.
Must be physically able to undertake a range of movements when carrying out personal care and safer people handling.
Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
All Social Care Assistants are provided with a Moray wide contract.
- Forres - 13 hrs per week and also 6.5 hrs per week (which is every other weekend)
- Elgin - 6.5 hrs per week (which is every other weekend)
- Lossiemouth - 6.5 hrs per week (which is every other weekend)
- Buckie - 6.5 hrs per week (which is every other weekend) and also Sessional (Relief)
- Fochabers - 19.5 hrs per week and also Sessional (Relief)
- Lhanbryde - 26 hrs per week and also Sessional (Relief)
- Keith - 26 hrs per week and also 13 hrs per month (Flexible)
Social Care Assistants work 6.5 hour shifts per day. Shift working hours are 7am to 1.30pm and 4pm to 10.30pm.
Face to face interviews will also include a short computer exercise and written questions.
