The postholder’s duties will primarily be the administration of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates accounts. The specific duties include the creation and amendment of data held on these databases and the issue of responses to written and verbal enquiries from taxpayers and ratepayers. The postholder will mainly specialize in either Council Tax or Non-Domestic Rates but may periodically be deployed to the other in times of high work volumes.

Requirements:

  • To input information to the Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates databases.
  • To respond to enquiries from taxpayers and ratepayers, both verbally and in writing.
  • To perform general clerical duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Experience of data input.
  • Experience of dealing with the public.
  • 4 SQA Standard grade or equivalent at level 3 or above including Maths and English.
  • High level of accuracy in work.
  • Effective communication skills; oral and written.
