Pupil Support Assistant – Assist teaching staff in providing a supportive and positive learning experience for children with additional support needs, assisting them with their personal needs and promoting their independence.

Lunchtime Auxiliary – To provide supervision of children remaining on school premises during the lunch period.

  • Support Learning & Teaching activities.

  • Provide support to children and young people with additional support needs

  • Attend to the personal care and health including the medical needs of pupils with additional support needs in maintaining a safe, healthy and hygienic environment.

  • Support pupils with their mobility needs.

Lunchtime Auxiliary

  • Supervision of pupils on the school premises during the lunchtime interval in particular within the school dining area.
  • \\n

  • General supervision within the time available as required which may include playground supervision.
  • \\n

  • Such other duties as determined by the Head Teacher.
  • \\n

Responsibilities

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.  Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

  • Experience of working with children & young adults of school age in a caring and supportive environment

  • Educated to ‘standard’ level or equivalent and a demonstrable understanding of English and Arithmetic

  • Willing to work as a team and on own initiative.

  • Be available between approximately 12.00pm – 1.30pm each day.
  • \\n

  • Able to work outdoors in all weather.
  • \\n

Applicants should note these are two separate positions, but we are looking for one person to fill both roles.

Starting Salary: £26,531.96 (pro rata)
£13.97 per hour
Lunchtime Auxiliary: 0.75 hours per week
Starting Salary: £25,935.52 (pro rata)
£13.48 per hour
(all hours to be worked on a Friday – term time only)
