To provide a safe and high quality service throughout the facility whilst maintaining good operational procedures and relationships between the service and members of the public.

Requirements

This post is considered to be a 'Regulated Role' under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act, it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. The successful candidate will therefore be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Responsibilities

  • Building security.
  • Preparing rooms/areas for use by groups.
  • Setting up and dismantling equipment as required.
  • Carrying out routine planned maintenance on equipment.
  • Monitoring, reporting on and carrying out cleaning/maintenance duties.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety standards are complied with.
  • Undertaking general duties.

The Individual

  • Experience in carrying out basic care and maintenance duties of property.
  • Working with people.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Numerate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Aptitude for tidiness.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Prioritises tasks.
  • Ability to follow routines/instructions.
  • Capable of working unsupervised.
  • Able to carry out handyman/basic maintenance duties.
  • Good customer care/people skills.
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and understanding manner.
  • Ability to lift furniture & equipment.

Temporary Post until 31 January 2027

Starting Salary: £25994 (pro rata) £13.79 per hour
