The successful candidate will work mainly in the Technical Department. The purpose of this post is to provide Technical/AV support services to all departments, members of staff, pupils and other stakeholders in the school.
Responsibilities:
- Specialised Technical and AV Tasks
- Health and Safety
- Provision and organisation of materials and equipment
- Responsible for relevant in-service training / CPD
- Financial responsibility including inventory tasks
The Individual:
- Expertise in the areas of Technical/AV
- Qualified to HNC level in a Technical subject; Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent as demonstrated by experience in any of this field
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Proven time management skills
- Working knowledge of software applications including Word, Excel and general internet access
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn
- Self-confidence
- Self-motivated
- A commitment to ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are met
- Evidence of an ability to prioritise work tasks for self
- Ability to accurately record information
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- An ability to communicate technical issues to all within the school environment
- Willingness to accept direction/delegation
- Ability to lift and carry computer hardware in conjunction with moving and handling regulations
This post is considered to be a 'Regulated Role' under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
