Moray Council are looking to recruit temporary/fixed perm supply teachers to cover various positions within the region. Moray is one of the smaller authorities in Scotland, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in scenery, facilities and quality of life. Requirements

  • Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
  • Developing the school curriculum
  • Assessing, recording and reporting the work of pupils
  • Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration
  • Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
  • Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils
  • Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
  • Undertaking appropriate and agreed Continuing Professional Development
  • Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
  • Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school

The Individual

  • Appropriate teaching qualification
  • Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or be eligible for such registration

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
