Job Description To assist with the development of a high quality, efficient and effective Professional Architectural Practice as directed by the Principal Architect all in accordance with the needs and priorities of the Council, relative to work commissions for internal and external Clients. Requirements To assist the Principal Architect in all aspects of administration of the Architectural Practice. To perform all tasks relative to a Student Architect and take responsibility for design and specification aspects of allocated projects from inception to completion. To ensure the timeous provision of appropriate information to the Principal Architect. To assist with Best Value issues relating to the Architectural Practice. To assist with planning and programming of Capital and Revenue works as requested, for all Clients. To be responsible for your own performance both individually, and as part of a team and be willing to take appropriate steps to improve particular areas of performance. The Individual Good general level of education to higher or equivalent level. Studying at a School of Architecture for a Part 1 or Part 2 Qualification. Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible approach is required. Ability to accept delegation. Effective organisational and time management skills Self confident and self motivated Knowledge of architectural procedures and practice. Good analytical and numerical skills. IT skills. Experience of Microsoft Excel, Access and Outlook Express Software. AutoCAD Computer Aided Drafting skills. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van. Effective communication skills both oral and written Effective negotiation skills. Ability to relate well to colleagues, Elected Members and the Public. Carry out survey work of basement, first floor and attic spaces of Council buildings. Carry out site survey work, including taking site levels of land to be developed by the Council. Carry out site inspections at ground and roof level on construction projects, including access to scaffolding.
