To undertake generally as part of a team the maintenance and construction of roads and footways.

Requirements:

  • Signing and guarding of works
  • Drainage and kerbing works
  • Preparation and laying of coated and uncoated materials
  • Fixing/dismantling Street Furniture
  • Driving of vehicles and plant
  • Participate in the Delivery of the Winter Service and response to other emergencies
  • Operation of Power Tools
  • General Support of Specialist Operatives
  • Meeting Health & Safety Requirements

The Individual:

  • Experience of outdoor manual work
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Requirements
  • Current Driving Licence
  • Prepared to work towards acquiring an LGV licence
  • Satisfy DVLA criteria to obtain LGV licence
  • Must be able to keep basic records
  • Willing to work outside in all weather
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work as a member of a team

This job requires a high level of applied physical effort. Must be willing to participate in the Winter and Summer Out of Hours Rota. Must be prepared to work overtime as required.

Starting Salary: £26,531.96 to £28,879.24* £13.79 to £15.01 per hour * 37 Hours per week * Grade 3 or 4 - subject to qualifications and experience
