Overview
The Payments Assistant will provide clerical support for the Payments Section.
Responsibilities
- Process transactions on the Financial Management System (FMS)
- Complete the scanning and filing of documentation related to the FMS - AR, AP & PMS
- Operate the telephone helpline (as assigned)
- Administer the mail in and mail out for the service
- Administer goods receipting (GRN) actions on the FMS - Procurement Management System (PMS)
- Assist with the administration and development of other Payments systems
- Assist with training as required
- Actively participate in the team meetings
The Individual
- Clerical/administration experience
- 3 SQA standard grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Arithmetic
- Procedural skills
- Effective organisational skills
- Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong customer care skills and focus
- Self-confidence
- Self motivated
- A flexible approach to new working practices and technology
- Able to maintain accuracy when working to tight deadlines
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Effective communication skills - written and verbal
