Overview
The Payments Assistant will provide clerical support for the Payments Section.

Responsibilities

  • Process transactions on the Financial Management System (FMS)
  • Complete the scanning and filing of documentation related to the FMS - AR, AP & PMS
  • Operate the telephone helpline (as assigned)
  • Administer the mail in and mail out for the service
  • Administer goods receipting (GRN) actions on the FMS - Procurement Management System (PMS)
  • Assist with the administration and development of other Payments systems
  • Assist with training as required
  • Actively participate in the team meetings

The Individual

  • Clerical/administration experience
  • 3 SQA standard grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Arithmetic
  • Procedural skills
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong customer care skills and focus
  • Self-confidence
  • Self motivated
  • A flexible approach to new working practices and technology
  • Able to maintain accuracy when working to tight deadlines
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
