To provide a personal assistant and secretarial service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy. Assist in the provision of an efficient clerical and administrative support service to HR Services.
Requirements:
- Assist in providing a personal assistant/secretarial support service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy.
- Assist with providing employee administration and administrative support services for People, Change & Community Strategy.
- Provide employee administrative services related to recruitment and selection; conditions of service and termination of employment.
- Management of Information.
- Assist with the administration of the Council's Long Service Recognition Scheme.
The Individual:
- Significant Clerical and typing experience.
- Accomplished user of Microsoft Office package e.g. Word, Excel.
- Experience co-ordinating meetings and transcribing minutes.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, email, Intra/Internet.
- 2 Higher Grades or equivalent, preferably including English.
- Proficiency in Word Processing.
- Ability to prioritise self and others, with understanding of potential problems.
- Ability to work on own initiative and make sensible informed decisions.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to grasp complex issues quickly.
- High level of accuracy in work and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a small team and contribute to effective team working.
- Self-confident and self-motivated.
- Willingness and ability to tackle issues sensitively, discretely and in confidence.
- Knowledge/understanding of the work of Human Resources.
- Appreciation, acceptance and commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
- Experience of researching issues.
