To assist the Asset Manager (Housing) in delivering high-quality, efficient contract and project management from design to completion, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements.
Requirements
- To assist in the development, administration and contract delivery of the Council’s Capital and Revenue Planned Maintenance Programme.
- To act as the department's representative, to protect the customers' interests and to ensure achievement of good quality work in liaison with other departments, sections, consultants and contractors.
- To protect the Council's Capital and Revenue budgets by actively controlling expenditure and ensuring that all projects offer the Council value for money.
- To promote positive behaviours in the workplace and promote safe working within Housing & Property Services.
The Individual
- Sound building technology knowledge and experience.
- House condition survey experience.
- Computer literacy, use of a range of databases and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrable experience working in a Housing Asset, Repairs and Maintenance role or equivalent.
- Technical knowledge of property repairs/maintenance or improvement works.
- Appropriate technical qualifications to ONC/HNC/HND level in Architectural Technology.
- Ability to manage complex situations/projects and find appropriate solutions.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks.
- Full driving licence and use of car for work purposes.
- AutoCAD Computer Aided Drafting skills.
- Worked in property repairs/maintenance or improvement environment.
- Ability to monitor and negotiate with contractors and consultants.
- Ability to prioritise own workload.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Good standard of general health and fitness required.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding.
