Job Overview

Delivering a diverse programme of learning opportunities across Moray for all ages. Providing opportunities for communities to engage with new technologies alongside both informal and formal learning in supportive environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver digital activity service wide across a range of outcomes linked to the Libraries Team Plan, including health, employability and children and young people.
  • Support the delivery of accredited learning opportunities across the Learning Centre network.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of a service wide digital participation programme aimed at encouraging more people to go online.
  • Assist with the provision of specialist staff training in ICT across the Libraries, Learning Centre and Heritage network.
  • Undertake financial and administrative tasks in line with Council Policy and procedures.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure the general security of the building and the necessary level of health and safety.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience developing and delivering engaging and effective learning activities to individuals and groups.
  • Relevant experience of accredited learning for adults.
  • Tutor or educator qualification or relevant experience.
  • Proficient IT skills (if not already held it will be a condition of employment that ICDL training is undertaken).
  • Five National 5 (SCQF level 5) qualifications or equivalent, or comparable experience.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable and highly motivated.
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to plan and manage own workload.
  • Interested and able to see the potential of new and emerging digital technologies.
  • Able to create inspiring and inclusive digital content and lesson plans.
  • Able to engage and build rapport with learners of all ages and skills levels.
  • Ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to lift and transport learning resources in accordance with moving and handling regulations.
  • You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray, this is normally undertaken by the use of a car.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Regulated Role & PVG Scheme

This post is considered to be a 'Regulated Role' under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
