Manage Business Gateway Moray to deliver business advisory services to pre-starts, start-ups, existing and growing businesses. Represent Business Gateway Moray as a professional, accessible and flexible service making a significant contribution to the local economy, and support the development of the service.

Responsibilities

  • To provide line management of the Business Gateway Adviser and take responsibility for individual and team performance appraisal and CPD.
  • To support regional economic outcomes through business support and development.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

The Individual

  • Extensive experience in the delivery of business advice.
  • Experience of enterprise or development agency work.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing and delivering projects.
  • Educated to Degree level in an appropriate discipline.
  • Already accredited, or prepared to achieve a recognised business advice & counselling accreditation within 12 months of appointment.
  • Peer recognition as strong contributor to the business advice profession.
  • Ability to work alone with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to make confident and informative presentations.
  • Proficient in use of computers for office support and expertise with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities, develop partnerships and build robust business plans/cases.
  • Ability to maintain an orderly office and records.
  • Effective leadership and influencing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently.
  • Ability to hold effective and professional face to face meetings with clients.
  • Ability to engage usefully in networks.
  • Ability to relate well with all levels of staff.
  • Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
  • Understanding of importance of effective team working.
  • Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in an open plan office.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.
  • Ability to work in different offices dependent upon service requirements.
