Accountancy Assistants are responsible for assisting in the provision of a comprehensive Accountancy Service to all areas of the Council. Areas include Departmental Revenue and Capital expenditure, Common Good, Trust Funds, and other bodies connected to the Council.
All Accountancy Assistants deliver training on the use of the Council’s General Ledger. Specific areas of responsibility will be identified by the Management Team and may be changed periodically.

The Individual
- A proven UK accountancy work experience
- 3 SQA Highers at level 3 or above including Maths or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office software and computerised ledger systems.
- Self confident and self motivated.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexible attitude to work allocation.
- Ability to accurately record data.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.
- Ability to work in an open plan office/ homeworking.
- Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.
