An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our day service team in providing care and support to service users with varied support needs. The ideal candidate will be caring, patient, compassionate and enthusiastic, they will be committed in providing support and guidance to service users to enable them to reach their full potential. Requirements

  • Support the provision of general and personal care by attending to the needs and rights of elderly / learning disability service users in a day service setting.
  • Be respectful while dealing with personal care requirements.
  • Be patient and understanding of communication difficulties and repetitive behaviour.
  • Care duties will require some moving and handling; training will be provided.
  • Be intuitive with regard to offering and participating in activities that will help service users to maintain or improve their cognitive and mobility skills.

The Individual

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and service users. Experience in working with elderly / learning disability service users is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Day Service provision is between 8.30am and 5.30pm and if successful you will be expected to work your contracted hours between these times. The successful candidate will be assigned a work base but may be asked to work at other day service locations within Moray as required.

This post is regulated work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.

Starting Salary: £26,224.12 (pro-rata) £13.63 per hour 28.75 hours per week
