To administer the various transactional processes employed by the buying team including:

  • sourcing of supplies to fulfil departmental orders
  • raising purchase orders with suppliers
  • delivering excellent customer service
  • prompt and efficient handling of order queries through to order fulfilment

Requirements:

  • Process council purchases
  • Collate requisitions, source supply and process orders through the Council's Financial Management System
  • Monitor the transactions being requested and processed
  • Assist the procurement team with the development of system catalogues
  • Liaise with areas of the finance service to ensure prompt settlement of invoices
  • Support clients with their orders and resolve enquiries

The Individual:

  • Administration roles/finance administration
  • Experience making purchases on behalf of an organisation
  • Finance/administration HND/HNC qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Procedural skills
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Microsoft office skills – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Strong customer care skills and focus
  • Initiative and accuracy when working to tight deadlines
  • Team work skills and flexibility to meet operational demands
