This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to maximise opportunities for future development in our harbours.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the management and operations of Moray Council leisure and commercial harbours.
- Taking a lead role in the development and marketing of the expansion and use of harbours, maximising their potential growth for new industries.
- Developing relationships with existing and potential customers and other agencies in order to maximise the potential for economic growth in and around the harbours.
- Liaising with harbour users and local communities to ensure that the harbours are responsive to users’ needs.
The successful candidate will have experience in harbour operations and hold a relevant qualification in a related discipline such as the UK Harbour Master Certificate. You will know which emerging industries could be drawn to the harbours and boost economic growth as well as bring to life our ambition to expand Buckie Harbour. You should also have a knowledge of port related health and safety requirements, excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills together with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate a customer focused approach.
