Job Description
Asset Maintenance Technician – Roads Maintenance
Location: Ashgrove Depot, Elgin (with travel across Moray and hybrid working options)
Hours: 36.25 per week
Salary : Career grade framework with clear progression (currently £27,426 to £40,527)
Leave: 28 days annual leave + 7 public holidays (rising to 33 days + 7 public holidays after 5 years)

We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join our Roads Maintenance team as an Asset Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, efficient, and effective road maintenance service across Moray.
About the Role
As an Asset Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Lead the identification, design, and planning of works within our Capital and Revenue Works Programme, including:
- Carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing)
- Surface dressing
- Footway improvements
- Drainage works
- Respond to customer enquiries, designing and implementing practical solutions where budgets allow
- Contribute to the development of:
- Roads maintenance policy
- Asset management planning
- Service improvement plans
- Performance reporting
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone with:
- A qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Relevant experience in road maintenance or a related construction environment
- Alternatively, extensive relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
