Job Description
To lead the Asset Management Commercial Buildings Team and provide and develop a high quality Estates Management Service, as directed by the Service Manager Property, Estates and Assets.
Requirements
- To manage the Asset Management Commercial Buildings Team.
- To provide a comprehensive Estates management service for the Council’s non domestic land and buildings portfolio.
- To support the development of the Council’s Corporate Property Asset Management Strategy and associated plans.
- To provide appropriate information and advice to the Council, its partners and external clients on property related matters. To seek continuous improvement in service provision.
The Individual
- Extensive experience in a Local Government Estates Office.
- Extensive experience in the acquisition, disposal, valuation and management of industrial, commercial and residential property
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Commercial Property and Valuation Faculty) with considerable relevant post qualification experience
- Supervisory skills. Organisational and time management skills. Self motivation, ability to deal with a heavy workload with the minimum of supervision.
- IT skills (MS Excel, Access, GIS and Property Databases
- Ability to work using initiative and common sense and take balanced decisions
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy.
- Full Driving Licence and access to vehicle
- Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Ability to present complex detail in writing and verbally to a variety of audiences.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to relate well to colleagues, elected members and the public.

£30.33 per hour
