Job Description Classroom Assistant - To assist the classroom teacher in providing administrative, practical and organisations tasks and also to support the learning activities of pupils.
Lunchtime Auxiliary - To provide supervision of children remaining on school premises during the lunch period.
Requirements Classroom Assistant Contribute to the effective organisation and use of resources.
Contribute to the quality of care and welfare of pupils.
Support the needs of pupils in effectively accessing the curriculum.
Support the quality of learning and teaching in the classroom.
Lunchtime Auxiliary Supervision of pupils on the school premises during the lunchtime interval in particular within the school dining area.
General supervision within the time available as required which may include playground supervision.
Such other duties as determined by the Head Teacher.
The Individual Classroom Assistant Experience of looking after young children Display ability and commitment to undertake initial training and subsequent staff development as required An understanding of the needs of parents with young children Ability to relate positively to young children and their parents A keen interest in child development Good interpersonal skills Enjoy working with children Flexible and adaptable approach Reliable and dependable Pleasant manner Ability to work as part of a team Lunchtime Auxiliary Knowledge of and experience with children of school age.
Ability to get on well with young children.
Ability to communicate effectively with children and staff.
Able to engage and interact with children Friendly but firm.
Genuinely interested in children.
Willing to work as a team and on own initiative.
Be available between approximately 12.00pm - 1.30pm each day.
Able to work outdoors in all weather.
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
Applicants should note these are two separate positions, but we are looking for one person to fill both roles.
