Barrowhill Hall is seeking a Nurse Assessor to manage enquiries, carry out clinical suitability assessments and support our compliance and governance processes. The role is primarily office-based, but includes regular external assessments in potential residents’ homes, hospitals and community settings, as well as attendance at external events and professional meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-admission assessments:
- Desk-based (telephone, documentation review, virtual assessments)
- Regular in-person assessments in homes, hospitals and community settings
About the Role
- Office-based with regular travel for assessments and external engagements.
- No routine floor nursing or manual handling (except in emergencies).
- Monday–Friday, stable hours (potential flexibility around school hours).
- Ideal for a nurse who enjoys assessment, coordination, communication and clinical decision-making.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC PIN.
- Experience in assessment, discharge planning, hospital interface roles, or care coordination preferred.
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to make clear suitability recommendations.
- Confident communicator, able to work with families, professionals and partner organisations.
- Understanding of CQC standards is beneficial.
