We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Engineering team as a Maintenance Engineer, based at our European Manufacturing plant in Gravesend, Kent. This role currently operates Mon-Fri with flexibility required. The Moove Group is already a leading provider of automotive lubricants, oils, and chemicals throughout the UK, Europe, the Americas and is growing fast. Under the Brazilian owned Cosan Group, the organisation is a global provider of Energy and Logistics. There are 200 employees based at the Gravesend location at which over 26 different languages are spoken. This is a high energy, fast evolving environment with ambitious improvement plans. As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll join a broad team of manufacturing professionals focused on maintaining and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to maximise plant availability and performance whilst meeting quality requirements.
Responsibilities as a Maintenance Engineer include:
- To maintain site health, safety & environmental standards, and company policies, being responsible for own safety and the safety of those around who may be impacted.
- To attend and resolve equipment breakdowns within agreed target times.
- To carry out and record works in accordance with the annual maintenance plan.
- To provide engineering support to the operation and minimise non-operational time.
- To maintain workshop spare inventory.
- To support process improvement activities which affect Overall Equipment Effectiveness (product of Quality, Performance & Availability).
- To actively contribute to capital investment projects.
- To achieve and maintain workshop housekeeping standards.
- To adopt and behave according to the Moove Attitudes, acting with consideration and respect for others.
- To supply essential out of hours activity as required by the business, without breaching the Working Time Directive or exceeding the company’s 6-day maximum working policy.
- To act on any reasonable request by the company or leadership team.
Skills required of our Maintenance Engineer:
- Experience of maintenance engineering in a manufacturing process environment.
- Practical fault-finding knowledge of Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation systems.
- Experience of maintenance and repair of the following: Fluid transfer pumps (diaphragm & positive displacement), Electrical drive systems - direct, geared, fixed & variable speed controllers, Mechanical systems – gears, shafts, bearings, drive belts, conveyors.
- Highly desirable: Compressed air systems, compressors, direct expansion dryers & filtration systems.
- PLC checks and programme modifications capability (Siemens S7, ideally Omron and Mitsubishi).
- Knowledge of steam boiler heating systems.
- Knowledge of basic hydraulics.
- Root cause analysis methodology skills.
- Ability to provide clear & concise communication with colleagues and managers on a 1:1 basis and in production and project meetings.
