A well-established fresh produce business supplying major UK retailers is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with experience in food safety, quality management and retailer compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining customer standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of high-quality products across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing customer specifications and retailer platforms
  • Maintaining supplier approval and due diligence systems
  • Investigating customer complaints and non-conformances
  • Supporting quality and food safety activities across the site
  • Conducting internal audits and driving corrective actions
  • Maintaining HACCP, BRCGS and Red Tractor systems
  • Supporting third-party audits and customer visits
  • Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and technical documentation
  • Leading food safety culture initiatives across the business
  • Producing technical reports and KPI analysis
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience within Fresh Produce (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Experience working with UK retail customers
  • Knowledge of customer specifications and complaint management
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to quality and compliance
  • Full UK Driving Licence
