A rare opportunity for a days-based Maintenance Engineering role has come in. Moorland Recruitment are working with a fast-paced manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This role would suit an engineer with experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment such as food, FMCG, plastics, paper, packaging, chemicals or general manufacturing. The company would ideally like an Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer, although they will also consider strong multi-skilled maintenance engineers with either an electrical or mechanical background.

As Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining production machinery
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Carrying out planned maintenance
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the site

This is a days-based role working Monday to Friday, offering a strong work-life balance compared with shift-based maintenance positions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
  • Fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working on motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics and production machinery
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance schedules
  • Assisting with continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Working closely with production teams to improve machine performance
  • Completing maintenance records and reporting recurring faults
  • Supporting installation, commissioning and machinery improvement work where required

Experience required:

  • Working as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in food, FMCG, plastics, paper, packaging or similar fast-paced manufacturing
  • Good fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
  • Comfortable working in a production-focused environment
  • Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous (Level 3 minimum)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
