Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 + Package

Moorland Recruitment are currently supporting a leading FMCG manufacturer in Herefordshire with the appointment of a Site Engineering Manager. This is a key leadership role for the site, responsible for leading the engineering function across a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of maintenance, reliability, engineering compliance, continuous improvement and team performance.

The business is looking for a strong engineering leader who can bring structure, accountability and pace to the department, while working closely with Production, Operations, Technical and H&S teams to improve overall site performance.

The Role

  • Lead the engineering team day-to-day, while also driving longer-term improvements across PPM systems, breakdown analysis, engineering standards, compliance and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the site engineering team across a busy FMCG manufacturing facility.
  • Take ownership of planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and engineering performance.
  • Improve machine reliability, reduce downtime and support improvements in OEE.
  • Review and develop PPM schedules, maintenance systems and engineering processes.
  • Manage engineering compliance, including PUWER, LOLER, contractor control, statutory inspections and site safety standards.
  • Work closely with Production and Operations to support output, efficiency and labour utilisation.
  • Manage engineering budgets, contractors, suppliers and critical spares.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, site improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build a proactive, accountable and performance-led engineering culture on site.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Senior Engineering Leader from a FMCG, food, drink, packaging, process or high-volume manufacturing environment.
