Why Moorhouse

We are a dynamic consulting firm focused on delivering sustainable change. We help our clients turn strategy into action through exceptional delivery and a culture of change. Our transformation consultancy works with clients on projects that deliver change and improvement, whether it is the way they operate, the services they provide or how they manage their people.

Overview

Our Health & Care sector is a critical part of our business and plays a major role in designing and delivering transformation for the NHS. We work with organisations across the UK health system—including national regulators, integrated care systems and providers—to solve their most critical challenges. This includes responding to disruptive trends, implementing innovative models of care, delivering transformation programmes, improving operational performance, and defining operating models.

Health & Care Expertise Spans the System From National Strategy Development To Delivery of Trust-wide Improvements In Provider Settings. Our core areas of focus are aligned to the major changes the NHS is seeking to deliver as part of its 10‐year plan. These areas are growing rapidly in the coming years.

  • Health System Strategy and Design: Commissioning and system strategy and design, helping IC/Ss and national bodies redesign care pathways, allocate resources effectively and drive system-wide transformation.
  • Health Service Optimisation: Operational, performance and financial improvement across acute, community and primary care settings.
  • Digital, Data and AI transformation: Supporting improved decision‐making, productivity and performance improvement across care systems.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Manager to lead and grow our Health & Care consulting portfolio, taking full ownership of engagements, shaping our go‐to‐market propositions and contributing directly to the strategic direction of the practice.

  • Lead and shape high‐impact transformation programmes – deliver innovative, strategically significant programmes for NHS commissioners and providers that improve outcomes, system performance and value for money.
  • Drive system and commissioning excellence – work with Integrated Care Systems and national bodies to design effective commissioning models, improve planning and resource allocation and strengthen system collaboration.
  • Guide provider transformation – partner with executive and operational leaders in acute and community trusts to deliver operational efficiency, elective recovery and workforce optimisation that is measurable and sustainable.
  • Learn from a highly experienced team of consultants with deep healthcare expertise.
  • Be trusted with real autonomy – take ownership for end‐to‐end project delivery, client relationships and team leadership.
  • Build your market profile – contribute to thought leadership and sector strategy, shaping how Moorhouse partners with the NHS and the wider system.
  • Shape and evolve our Health & Care propositions – develop go‐to‐market offers that respond to system challenges, regulatory priorities and emerging technologies.
  • Play a leading role in business growth – identify and develop new opportunities, nurture client relationships and originate and lead bids that expand our project and client base.
  • Lead and guide others – lead delivery teams and act as a line manager to junior members, developing both people and business.
  • Join a thriving, values‐led community – be part of a collaborative, ambitious and inclusive team with regular events, learning sessions and quarterly 'escapes'.

We are looking for candidates with at least 6‐8 years' experience in healthcare consulting and/or NHS leadership, with demonstrable impact in the following areas:

  • Commissioning and System Transformation: experience leading work with commissioners, IC/Ss, NHSE or national bodies; expertise in commissioning design and reform, population health management, performance improvement or service re‐configuration; strong understanding of funding flows, contracting mechanisms and governance within the NHS.
  • Provider Transformation and Operational Improvement: proven ability to lead change programmes within provider organisations, improving patient flow, workforce productivity, elective recovery or service efficiency; working knowledge of NHS operational processes and common data sets (SUS, HES, RTT, A&E, theatre utilisation, workforce data); familiarity with key NHS digital systems and tools.
