Overview
Moorhill Primary School, part of the Shaw Education Trust, is looking for a part‑time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work 19 hours per week, assisting teachers inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, teach classes and report on student progress.
- Set up classrooms for lessons, including television for video presentations and sourcing books and handouts.
- Teach classes unassisted, especially when teachers are ill or on leave.
- Plan and deliver learning and enrichment activities with or independently of teachers.
- Work with small groups or individual students needing special attention.
- Develop specialist curricula in areas of interest.
- Assess students’ progress and discuss development with teachers, parents and carers.
- Console students who are unwell, injured or upset.
