An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Rotational Pharmacy Technician team in a busy and friendly cross‑divisional pharmacy department, to provide frontline outpatient, inpatient as well as procurement and distribution pharmacy services to support pharmacy dispensaries and clinical areas across the Moorfields Eye Hospital network. Rotations will cover patient‑facing pharmacy dispensaries based in all divisions of the Trust (North Division and City Road) and will also include rotations into the pharmacy Procurement and Distribution department at City Road.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of a safe and efficient patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service.
- Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management North Division, Senior Dispensary and Procurement Pharmacy Technicians and Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement and Systems Support in delivering a robust pharmacy top‑up service that ensures a safe supply of medicines to wards and other clinical areas across the Trust.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost‑effective medicine supply to wards and departments within the Trust and with external stakeholders regarding medication supply issues or shortages.
- Participate in a top‑up service for the ward, clinic and theatres at the Moorfields Bedford Eye Unit and other networked site clinical areas in the North Division, ensuring medicines are ordered, coordinated and distributed in a timely manner.
- Support the dispensing of outpatient, inpatient and prescriptions issued from the virtual clinic service at the Moorfields Bedford Eye Unit, the North Division and the City Road site, and support aspects of the safe and effective control and supply of controlled drugs.
